Description

Here is an easy to install trimless, fire rated downlight for use in new ceilings or in areas where a plaster skim is to be applied.

Installation is relativity easy:

Cut a 86mm diameter hole. Install the top hat housing in the hole and fix the perforated rim to the plasterboard. Plaster with a skim coat to the circular bead, paint then install the rear housing, lamp and retaining bezel. Full instructions are provided in the PDF document.

IP65 rated, suitable for bathroom zones 1, 2 and 3 offering protection from water projected from a nozzle.

Can your mains fixed round trimless with LED GU10 be installed over a shower?
These are IP65 rated making them suitable for bathroom zones 1, 2 and 3. In short, yes they can.

Can this light be used in United States with 110 volts?
These are are mains fitting but do require 230/240v. So in short no.

Please can you confirm whether or not these fitting are able to house a GU10 LED lamp? I have read a number of articles that say that a standard GU10 generates too much heat and causes cracking and discolouration, and that trying to rectify this with a GU10 LED (less heat) does not work as the lamps do not fit.
Mains halogen lamps generate more heat than 12v lamps. CFL (compact fluorescent lamps) are cooler than 12v lamps and LED lamps generate the least heat. We offer a wide range of LED lamps including several that are the exact dimensions of a mains halogen GU10 lamp. Search for idealfit.

AT A HEIGHT OF 2.4M HOW MUCH SPLAY WILL THE LIGHT HAVE?
The fitting comes in two versions: one uses mains GU10 lamps which typically come with a 40 degree beam angle. The other uses MR16 12v lamps which are available in narrow beam (starting at 6 degrees) right up to very wide (60 degree) floods. We can run a calculation and produce a 3D plot if you call us with room size/height/layout.
