Plaster-in Trimless Downlights - Requires a Skim Coat
Clearly having to apply a skim coat of plaster after the downlights have been installed means various trades need to to talk to each other. But with anything other than a standard 12.5mm thick ceiling this will be necessary. Rest assured however the results do look very good and the plaster is less likely to crack if there is movement from the floor above.
Aside from being plastered into position the ceiling these downlights function like any other allowing the lamp to be changed without tools. On fixtures designed for low voltage lamps it is also possible to access the transformer via the downlight if this component needs replacement at any stage. To give wide even soft lighting we would suggest that medium to wide beam angle lamps are used. For those seeking to lower operating costs these fixtures can be used with LED lamps.
