Drive over lighting is categorised by the weight and speed of vehicle likely to drive over the fitting. Designs are either buried and flush or slightly proud of the surface with a casing enclosed in concrete. Load designs start at 500 Kg and go up to 5 tonnes with vehicle speeds of up to 30 mph. Glass temperature has been a cause of concern in recent years and many new designs keep the glass temperature to 60 or 70 degrees centigrade or lower in areas where the public could touch the glass. Designs include architectural feature light effects, and traditional flat glass designs with symmetrical and asymmetrical distribution. Look through each product for specification for details.
