Large & Oversized Downlights - Tips and Advice
The 150mm bezel on the converter downlight will easily cover a hole of up to 120mm diameter and can be used with larger holes if assisted with a little Gripfill (the master of all building adhesives). The cut out diameter makes this product suitable for replacement of most R63 and some R80 downlights. The R80 eyeballs are, however, incredibly large so please ensure you look closely before placing your order.
If you are replacing a mains reflector lamp we would advise you to use the low voltage pack. This is supplied with a wide beam lamp (60 degrees) which will give the closest distribution to a R63/R80 reflector lamp. You can also use the GU10 version, but with a lower light output (than the low voltage lamp) and a narrower distribution you may be disappointed with the results.
This universal converter has been designed to suit any hole size and offers a modern dichroic display light to retrofit old fashioned mains reflector fittings.
