Description

Two piece solid construction aluminium round downlight with an IP65 rating with frosted lamp glass. Ideal for the bathroom or as soffit lighting due to the high IP rating.

You will get a slightly softer diffused light from this IP65 downlight because the front glass is acid etched and the lamp above this. The housing is a two-piece construction and the outer component with retaining clips stays in place when the fixture is removed for lamp replacement.

No tools are required to change the lamp, Designed for GU10 lamps up to 50W.

can I put a low volt led light in these fittings ?
In theory you can put an LED in this fitting. The transformer to power the fitting has a minimum load of 20 watts though and therefore you need to hit at least 20 watts.

Is it really easy to remove the casing to change the bulb?
Yes the silver bezel and glass unscrew to reveal the lamp for easy lamp change.

What is the total depth of this downlight?
The installation depth for this fitting is 130mm.

Is IP65 Soffit Downlight - 12v Silver Grey Zone 1 compliant? (bathroom)
Yes. Zone 1 requires an IP rating of 44 minimum, this fitting is in fact IP65 rated.

What is the exact size of the bezel diameter?
The bezel diameter is 80mm.

Can you give me any idea of the spread of light from these, as an indication of how far apart to position them?
The spread of light you get from a fitting like this is dependent upon the beam angle of the lamp that you install in it. The typical beam angle for an MR16 lamp is 38º however we often supply soffit kits with 60º wide angle lamps. Using a little bit of Pythagoras you can work out that a 60º lamp mounted at 4 metres is going to cover an area of 6 metres at ground level (if the lamp is powerful enough to reach the ground!). Realistically we would generally suggest placing these fittings every 2-3 metres, especially as they have a frosted diffuser.
