Yes, Hue bulbs are slightly longer than standard GU10 bulbs however they are the same width.

Thank you for your reply regarding the void clearance, but could you please just let me know the required void clearance either side of the downlight and is it the same for the tilt model.
The fitting does not require a clearance either side as the springs will hold it place.

I am going to order IP65 Matt White Shallow Fire Rated fixed Downlights product code JGFNSWHM. Am i right in saying these need a 68mm hole in the ceiling?
Yes, the fixed version is a 68mm cut out the adjustable version 78mm

Hi - will 'High power' ceramic LTSMD5 / LTSM5 GU10 lamps (as sold by TLC) fit these downlights?
We do not know this product but as along as it's the same dimensions as a standard GU10 lamp then it should.

I’m looking for Dow light fixtures with changeable bulbs like these but in my build I only have about a 35-50mm gap between the plasterboard and the insulation and was wondering if I could have the wire box of these down on top of the plasterboard to save further space? Would that be possible? I can see it’s got just a 90 degree bracket holding it to the fixture.
There's no need to attach the bracket and terminal block directly to the light fixture; they can be situated within the void. This approach was crucial with halogen lamps due to their high operating temperatures. The bracket served as a protective measure to prevent heat damage to the terminal block. With LED lamps the issue of heat is not a problem.

What is the required cut hole size diameter in plasterboard ceiling please?
The Fixed and shower options require 68mm cutout, Tilt option 78mm.

Do you need to drop the fitting to change the lamp or can they be changed without doing so?
The lamp can be changed whilst in situ, by untwisting the Bezel.

Cutouts are: Fixed 68mm and Tilt 78mm. And yes they have quick as lightning Wago style connections

Will the fittings be suitable to be installed 3m above a indoor swimming pool?
For using over a pool, CIBSE lighting guides may not apply to your installation (if domestic) so consult your electrician and discuss with them your maintenance to ensure this can be carried out safely and without draining your pool.

Can an ikea tradfri gu10 smart bulb be fitted to this
Yes the diameter and lamp shape and diameter will fit this light fixture.

Would these be suitable to be fitted into a 100mm deep ceiling void? The void has kingspan insulation also, what gap will in need to leave inbetween the insulation and light?
The Minimum void required for this fitting is 80mm. You can overlay with insulation if using a LED lamp - but do not pack it down as this will reduce the life of the LED chip.

Will this take a Phillips hue lamp in the tilt model and what will be the overall depth?
The depth is 70mm. We have not tested Phillips hue lamps, but if the size is the exact same as a standard GU10 it should work fine. Some older ones have a larger head.

I'm looking to replace existing downlights with these and wondering what the terminating block looks like? My existing setup has daisy chains from one downlight to the next. can these blocks support this?
The terminal block is tools free, each of the conductors has two cable entries allowing you to loop in and loop out the wiring.

Are these fittings suitable for mounting on combustible materials i.e. on a plywood soffit?
Yes the fixtures are F- marked so safe for this application.

When used with dimmable LED lamps does this require a leading edge or trailing edge dimming switch?
Leading edge dimmer would be required.

Are the lights ok to have fibreglass insulation above without a fire hood or additional protection?
The heat generated by these downlights is entirely dependant on the type of lamp used. Do not use halogen lamps beneath quilt insulation. You can overlay with insulation if using a LED lamp - but do not pack it down as this will reduce the life of the LED chip.

If the terminal bracket is not used can it be used in a void below 80mm?
If just using a lamp holder the fitting would fit in a smaller void, around 68mm.

How do you change the bulb?
The Bezel twists off which gives you access to the bulb.

Is the white fitting matt or glossy? What's the maximum height of the bulbs?
The white fitting has a glossy finish - with a maximum bulb length of 55mm. We have not tested beyond this.

This used GU10 base mains lamps that are 50mm in diameter. Suggested bulbs can be found on the BULB tab.

Which are the best bulbs for light in a kitchen situation.
Best colour temperature is neutral around 4000°k. As wide a beam as possible unless your ceiling is 9’ high. Hope this helps.
