Metal Scandinavian Rise & Fall Pendant - White, Black or Grey

Are there any instructions to go with the lamp?There were no instructions in the box - only your catalogue. Thank you. Maria
Scandinavians often keep things simple. Apologies for this. The pendant hangs from a hook screwed into the ceiling. The rise and fall mechanism has hoop at the top that hangs on the hook. Make the electrical connection and slide up the plastic ceiling rose to cover the mechanism. The fiction on the rise and fall action can be adjusted with the wing nut to increase or loosen off - depending on how freely you want the shade to move.

Dear Lightingstyles, I have just asked a question about the drop. Thank you for the answer, but unfortunately it doesn't answer my question. The specification shows the length and width of the lampshade, but this still doesn't clarify if the 'lamp drop' includes both the cord, the overall length of the lampshade and the bottom point of the pull handle. I could not locate the PDF document with any detail. Could you please confirm. Many thanks.
The drop length (680mm) is the distance from the ceiling to the bottom of the fitting which includes the flex and the fitting. This is when the light is not extended.

What does the 68 cm drop include? Is it the wire part only - the distance between the end of the rose and the point where it uis fixed to the pendant or does is include the overall length of the pendant from the rose? If not, what is the length of the of the pendant to the end of the pull handle - the pictire only shows its width as 430? Thank you.
Under Additional Details you will find a PDF document this drawing shows the dimensions. At minimum height (not pulled down) the overall drop is 680mm.

Can the height be adjusted to any height between 68cm and 160cm, and is it easy to do? Could it be set at different heights throughout the day? It is difficult to see how the mechanism works.
The ceiling plate contains and sprung mechanism (with an adjustable drag). This means the light is raised or lowered by pulling down or pushing up the fixture using the hoop at the bottom. You are free to adjust the position of the light as frequently as you like and you can adjust how easy or hard it is to move by altering the drag. Adjustment of the drag can be carried out in situ by sliding down the outside of the ceiling cup and turning the wingnut inside.

What is this lamps shade made of: plastic or metal?
Is it made out of metal.

Is the black shiny or matt?
Neither, it is a satin finish (semi-gloss)

Is the colour of the shade the same on the inside as the outside?
It is white on the inside.

Is this available without the lamp?
The fitting does not come with a lamp. However, if you are referring to the lamp holder - there is not a variant where this is excluded.

How far from the ceiling does it hang when it is at its highest?
680mm from the ceiling.

Could you please advise what the minimum and maximum drop from the ceiling is when it is fully raised?
When it is raised, the drop (the minimum drop) is 680mm. The maximum drop when fully extended is 1600mm.

I bought one of these last year and it keeps on falling from the height at which I set it. Is there any setting in the mechanism that makes it tighter, so that it can hold up the weight of the shade and lamp?
Inside the ceiling rose there is a positive and minus that is controlled by a turning a screw with your hands, If you tighten that it should fix your problems.

Can this work with a dimmer switch?
Yes. On a standard dimmer, as well as a dimmable bulb.

I am intending this for a kitchen/diner, that sometimes gets steamy (when cooking) -- is the satin nickel finish protected against rust?
Yes, it will be absolutely fine.

From the photo, "grey" looks like "satin" metal - is that correct? Since this is steel, is there a protective coating to prevent rust?
Yes, you're absolutely right the grey option of this rise and fall is satin nickel. If this is installed in the kitchen/living space it will not rust, it's designed for internal installation only.

How much does this unit weigh?
This is a light weight fitting and weighs approximately 2kg.

Please can you provide instructions for installation of this light fitting in UK.
Like most European Design light fixtures a ceiling hook (supplied) is required. This is fixed to the ceiling next to the flex coming through your ceiling. The electrical connection and hook are hidden when the “cup” is slid into place. Full instructions are supplied with the fixture.

Does the 680mm minimum drop include the 130mm of the ceiling rose?
The 680mm minimum drop does not include the rose.

Are these lights suitable for vaulted ceilings, please confirm the maximum drop?
We would not recommend installing this on a vaulted ceiling unless you intend to have it fully extended at all times. When the fitting is fully extended the total drop from the ceiling is 1600mm.
