This is a low glare, low level, recessed wall light which, for ease of installation, fits into a standard 1-gang UK back box and uses a mains supply. This equates to a fast installation, where a mains supply is run to a wall box and after plastering and painting the light fixture can be installed and your chosen cover popped on.

Being a doddle to fit does not t mean you have to compromise on style as you have a choice of covers to suit or contrast your decor.

This fitting is designed to be installed into a recess in your wall giving a smooth, flush finish. You will require a back-box (either plastic or steel) measuring 70 x 70mm and a depth of 39mm minimum behind the fixture. We recommend using 47mm deep back boxes.

Perfect for adding additional illumination in hallways, near stairs or anywhere in a modern home.

IP44 rated suitable for bathroom zone 2 when installed in accordance with the latest electrical design and installation standards and double insulated - needing no earth.

Uses only 1 watts and is complete with built-in LED lamp in 3000°k - warm white.

Do not forget to order a cover to suit your decor, the covers are cast aluminium and powder coated in matt paint, or electroplated (brass) with a satin finish.

Just want to make sure these lights connect on to main supply with no need for transformers and standard metal back box on the wall.

We have these step lights fitted or very similar (by previous owner) one has failed. Can we get a replacement bulb array for this one? If so what do we get - or do we need to buy a new unit?
This is an LED recessed mains light, it does not contain bulbs and therefore they are not replaceable. The best option for you is to take one out of the recess in the wall, measure the fitting and the hole required and go from there. It is very difficult for us to advise without seeing the fitting or knowing the sizing etc.

The mounting height can vary, 20-25cm is often appropriate, but you can of course wire one to lead and plug and see what light effect suits your space.

What distance above the floor should these lights be mounted in the wall?
This is up to you and depends on the light effect you would like to create. Mounting lower, around 10cm from the floor will give a bright intense effect, while higher around 35cm will be a lot more subtle. If they are shining on to a reflective surface e.g. bright tiles, you may want to mount them higher to avoid reflected glare.
