I need to replace bathroom cabinet light that previously using a 50cm T4 fluorescent tube. The cabinet is fed by 230v mains but the T4 tube sat in a fixture marked 220v 20W fed from a box inside the cabinet via a flying lead with a two-wire snap connector. Is this suitable to connect to this Retro-Fit light unit? Alternatively could I connect up this light unit via a flying lead from a 2-pin plug shaver socket built into the existing cabinet?
An image would help, but assuming our way through this may well work. The box is either holding an electronic control gear (ballast) for the fluorescent lamps, or simply a terminal block connection, so removing lamp, lamp holders and that box should leave you with a mains feed onto which you can connect this light fixture. You might want to send a few images first via email so we can be sure. You will need to protect any new connections - no bundles of insulating tape and screw terminals in the bathroom please!

Are these light permanently on?
These lights do not have their own pullcord, they will operate on a normal light switch.

We are having fitted bathroom cabinets that are 140mm depth. Can this light be fixed to the cabinet or wall. If wall there is not enough depth.
In that application it would be best to fix the light to the top of the cabinet. Use wood screws in timber or self tapping screw in aluminium or steel cabinets.

Would this provide enough illumination over bathroom mirror to see clearly for applying make up ! My wife’s not mine

How does the light operate? Pull cord ? Is it on cabinet top fitting or wall as the pic looks like wall but you say cabinet? Any side view
There are three images. If you are using a mobile tap the image and swipe left. The fixture screws to the top of a cabinet. It is unswitched.

Can you tell me whether one can get spare bulbs for this fitting? What are the dimensions ie: the width of the light and the reach of the neck so I can see how far it would extend beyond the cabinet door.
We have added a new image to the listing to show all dimensions. The long life LED lamp inside can not be replaced.
