Touch Dimmer For Kitchen Lighting - 12 or 24 Volt Operation
Easy to find touch dimmer - it glows at night
Product Ref: 51463
From £18.00 inc VATThis easy-to-find 50mm square touch dimmer can be used to dim or switch fittings on and off. In the centre is a blue LED which gives a soft glow so you can find the switch if the lights are off - ideal for midnight fridge raiders.
This dimmer touch-plate can switch and dim 12 volt loads up to 30 watts and 24 volt DC supplies up to 60 watts.
Supplied with small screws for fixing but in the box is a self-adhesive pad that makes it possible to fit onto glass or metal surfaces.
Manual Wiring
This dimmer has two leads with miniature plugs that suit some of our 12v undercabinet lights, these may be removed and the dimmer used on 12-volt or 24-volt lighting installations. The wiring to those dimmers is simple 2-core bell wire style with one cable in and another out. Remove the JB4 push-fit connector blocks join the wires manually with screw terminal chocbox or better still Wago-style electrical connectors.
This is easier to do than it is to write, the power in low voltage LED kitchen lights is DC, and the polarity of the wires are marked on bell wire cable with a dashed line. If you have the polarity wrong the light will not break so just try them the other way.
Push-fit Wiring
If both your power supply and lights have JB4 push-fit blocks the installation is as follows
Plug the dimmer into the power supply, and plug the lights into the dimmer. If you need to operate (or dim) more than one light you may wish to use the 12-way distribution block. If your power supply or lights do not have the correct connection just manually wire them as suggested above.
Complete with 2000mm of cable.
