This recessed single circuit lighting track is designed for those who want light without visible fittings. Once installed, it sits flush within the ceiling or wall, creating a built-in lighting system that blends seamlessly with the surrounding architecture. The narrow visible edge keeps ceilings tidy and uncluttered, ideal for modern interiors where clean lines and minimal detailing are essential.

Usage
Originally developed for commercial settings, track lighting is now widely used in residential projects where flexible, directional lighting is required. The recessed design removes visible bulk, allowing the light to become part of the architecture rather than a surface feature. The track provides mains power for a range of fittings, from adjustable spotlights for task lighting to pendant lights suspended over worktops, counters, or bars.

Pendant adapters, available separately, allow pendants to connect directly to the track. Clip-in covers can also be fitted to fill gaps between light fixtures or close off unused sections, maintaining a continuous, flush appearance.

Installation
Each section is supplied in 2-metre lengths and can be cut to the required size using a mitre saw or hacksaw. The profile measures 55 mm wide and requires a 35 mm cut-out with a 40 mm recess to accommodate the fixing clips. Typically four or five clips are needed per section, along with a live end for power feed and a dead end for termination.
The track may be recessed into walls as well as ceilings. Where wall-mounted, only lightweight or compact fittings should be used to avoid undue strain on the profile and fixings.
This is a mains-voltage system, so no transformer is required.

Can this track be painted to fit the wall colour?
This recessed track is powder coated aluminium which you can paint. It does however require proper surface preparation to ensure the new coating adheres well and lasts. Powder coating is durable and smooth, which makes it resistant to paint unless the surface is correctly treated beforehand. You would need to use a suitable primer and potentially a seal after painting. Whilst we might say it can be painted we cannot verify this but believe it may be possible.

Can this track be cut to size on site?
Yes, this can be cut to size, on site.

Can this track be used with dimmable light fitting? on a standard dimmer switch.
Yes, this track can be used on a standard dimmer.

Is it possible to change a light on a recessed track? Also is this designed to be as deep as the ceiling it (doesn't need to go into the joists)?
Yes it is possible, the track head can be swapped out if required. This has mounting fixing brackets, but doesn't need to be installed into the joists.

Will this be compatible with IKEA track lights? Also can you affix to plasterboard and how? Is it glued on?
This track is screwed in using the fixing clips. This track is not compatible with Ikea track lights.

1. The fittings that are in the category are the fixtures that can be used with this track. 2. Dimmable GU10 LEDs can be used. Regarding digital dimmers, That supplier would be best to talk to, regarding minimum load. etc. 3. A 35mm cut-out is required with a depth of 40mm to accommodate the fixing clips.
