Does this need a back box for the cables to go into ?
The fitting has it's own back box which is recessed into the wall.

What IP rating is this light. I want to put it in a bathroom?
IP20 - offers very little if any protection against water ingress. You could improve this by the use of a remote driver or waterproofing electrical connections but ultimately the use of this fixture in a bathroom was not something considered likely by the designer. Therefore this light can only be used outside of areas 0, 1 & 2 in a bathroom and in accordance with the latest and current electrical design and installations in your area.

Is it possible to wire these lights into a normal 3 pin UK plug?
Although designed to be hard-wired, there is no reason why, when installed into furniture or a bedhead, for these not to be fitted with a flex and 3-pin plug for use in a standard socket.

Are these lamps dimmable?
These fittings are non-dimmable.
