The backing plate that attaches to the wall is 115mm in diameter.

When taking the fitting off to change the bulb does it need to be lifted vertically? (I need to fit it under a canopy so don````t have much vertical height) Many thanks
Yes it does need to be lifted vertically so might be a tight fit. Another way of doing it would be to take the screws out of the base, your electrician will always leave a little extra wire, then change the bulb, that should give a little more room to work with.

How do you access this light fitting to change the bulb?
Simply unscrew the 3 screws that are near the bottom of the fitting, This will allow the glass shade and top of the fitting to come away, and allow you access to change the lamp/bulb.
