In the hospitality industry voltage can be a stumbling block for specifiers trying to source FF&E light fixtures. Thankfully we are able to make life a little easier by offering a range of product that will operate on electrical systems from 110v to 250v AC. This will make it possible for a hotel in a county with 110v supply to utilise the same fixtures as those hotels with a 240v supply.

In addition to providing products to suit 110v many products have, or are going through ETL approval. So right now we have a range of nearly 300 SKUs which have this mark of North American safety standards compliance.

Lighting – perception of colour, hues, and brightness.

We have all been in a commercial environment where the lighting is not quite right. The space seems oddly flat, produce looks a little drab and figuring out the colour of garments is a challenge. This often occurs when the installation uses lighting that is efficient and has a long life but does not provide the high quality, wide spectrum light required for our eyes to detect the visible light and pass this information to the brain.

When lighting a commercial space consideration should be given to the efficiency of the lighting scheme and the use of long life and energy efficient light fixtures. However this must be balanced with the need for high colour rendering i.e. lighting that gives an accurate representation of an items true colour.

Artificial Lighting with a CRI of 90 or higher will compare favourably to a broad spectrum light source. Many LED light sources only achieve CRI 80 or less. Increasingly we are adding LED products with CRI of 90 or even 93.
