Fresnel lenses are named after the French physicist Augustin Jean Fresnel who in the 1800s invented a unique compound lens designed to produce parallel beams of light, a technoligy still used widely in lighthouses and every day in automotive light clusters. The stepped concentric circles either concentrate or disperse light and like a lighthouse, multiple images of a single light source are directed out.
These shades, designed by The Unnatural Light Company can simply be hung on existing ceiling light pendants, (an adapter is supplied to suit bayonet cap or the larger diameter edison screw lampholders), or you may purchase a pendant lampholder and ceiling plate from those listed below.
These shades can also be with table and floor lamp bases. A wall light is also available. The two larger sizes are available with a prismatic difuser to the underside.
The lighting effect creates a glittering oasis of light for inner calm...
