Located near the bottom of the wall bracket is a small switch to turn the light on and off. Please note this button is black on the white fitting.

Does the lamp hook onto the wall or does the cover come off to reveal holes in the back plate through which the fitting can be fixed to the wall?
The fitting attaches to back plate/bracket which is fixed to the wall.

The LED bulb in this has a lifetime of 30,000 hours. At 1 hour a night this is just over 82 years so by all means don`t limit yourself to 1 hour.

The light output comes from a Safety Extra Low Voltage supply built into the housing. It just needs a mains supply. You can`t compare a narrow beam spotlight with a 40w lamp but rest assured this reading light gives a bright and intense light suitable for reading i.e. bright enough.
