Guns Lounge Floor Lamp by Philippe Starck for Flos

Modern art or a symbolic gesture? Philippe Starck has built a range of strong, controversial yet bizarrely functional pieces Whichever way you consider it. The Guns Lounge light, which is the biggest in the range, is a floor lamp that is visually very striking for many modern homes, retail outlets or commercial spaces. The range features a small bedside light and a large table light or small floor lamp - depending on how you use it.

The Lounge Gun, based on the AR-15 assault rifle, represents the West. The black shade signifies death, and the crosses on the inside are to remind us of those who have passed.

The body on this Guns Lounge lamp is die cast aluminium with an 18K gold plated finish. The base is emblazoned with the words “happiness is a hot gun”.  The shade is a matt plasticized diffuser with a silkscreen and gold printing inside with the subtle S+arck signature cross decoration.

Most importantly Flos will donate twenty percent of the gross sales from the Guns Collection to the Freres des Hommes Europe Association, an organization that works the growth of local communities and their social structure in underdeveloped countries for the world.

The shade measures 560mm in diameter and 425mm high. The power cord, which has an in-line dimmer measures 1.5m in length.
