How long in years, is this light fitting (not the 2D Tube) designed to last, assuming it is on 100% of the time. Has it been tested by any reputable authority?
The fixture should have a life expectancy of 10 years constant operation. At his point the plastic may be discoloured and brittle through prolonged ecposure to UV light and heat. But of course can still be used. Battery packs on ANY emergency fixture should be checked annually and replaced as part of building maintenance. The fixture will have been tested to BS EN standards for thermal endurance.

If the light mains power source fails, does the light remain on for 3 hours? Is there any time guarrantee for the fitting before it fails, if it is on permanently? Does this fitting take a 2D 4Pin lamp?
If the power source fails this fitting will operate for three hours - the switched status of the fixture before a power failure makes no difference i.e. on or off the light will run via the battery pack for three hours. UK standard requires three hours operation - which this provides. Yes it uses a four pin lamp.
