To resolve this, you’ll need a dimmer designed for LED loads. Rather than replacing the entire dimmer switch, you can simply replace the dimmer module within your existing wall switch, avoiding the hassle of matching a new faceplate. If a faceplate is needed, these are readily available from electrical suppliers.
Adjusting and Configuring the Dimmer Module
This dimmer module is easy to install and works with various lighting loads, but minor adjustments may be needed to optimise performance for low loads. To restore factory settings (and enter configuration mode), turn the dimmer to the minimum position (anticlockwise) and press the knob 8 times. Lights on the circuit will flash twice to confirm it is in configuration mode.
To adjust the minimum brightness, set the dimmer to the desired level and press the knob 4 times. Lights on the circuit will flash once to confirm the adjustment.
If your lights flicker or buzz, you can switch between dimming modes. Trailing-edge mode is best for LED and electronic loads, while leading-edge mode suits incandescent, halogen, some LED lamps, and transformers. To change modes, turn the dimmer to the maximum position (clockwise), press the knob on and off 5 times, and observe the Lights on the circuit will flash: once for trailing-edge mode and twice for leading-edge mode.
Compatible Loads
This dimmer supports incandescent lamps from 10W to 200W and LED lamps from 5W to 150W. Its adaptable design ensures reliable, efficient operation for a variety of lighting types, making it a versatile choice for your lighting setup.
