Ultimate Flexibility These downlights provide white and coloured light and can be switched or controlled by an app on your phone or tablet. In addition, they can be voice-controlled by Alexa or Google Assistant. No hub, no gateway, no faff, or rocket science required.

What do you get? A high-quality, FIRE-RATED, steel and aluminium IP65 energy-saving LED downlight suitable for all rooms, including bathrooms. The control gear is included and pre-wired for connection to your house wiring. The fixture is supplied with a flat matt white bezel, but other colours can be chosen to suit the decor in the room. All bezels twist off and on, making them easy to attach after the ceiling has been painted. The beam angle is 60°, providing a wide beam that reduces shadows and increases the uniformity of light levels. The fixture is IC rated meaning you can lay insulation directly over the top of the fixture without issue.

What can it do? Inside this downlight is an array of high-quality white and coloured LED chips, and adjusting their individual output determines the light produced.

White light If you want just white light, you can pick the colour temperature to suit your mood, from a soft warm white to a neutral crisp white, and up to cool bluish daylight.

Coloured light If you fancy having coloured light for movie night or a soak in the bath, simply switch it over to coloured light. The touch screen on your chosen device allows you to pick and play until you find what you need.

Everyday use Not everyone always wants to switch their lights on with a device, so switching via your light switch means the lights come on in the same colour or tone of white that was last used. Great for those who do not wish to be a slave to their phone.

App Features

Schedule light-up times and automate when devices turn on/off.
Geofencing feature - set up smart lights to automatically turn on or off based on your GPS location.
Set scenes and store them to quickly set the lights how you like them.

Although this fitting requires a phone or tablet with Bluetooth for set-up, it also requires connection to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network for optimal performance. Once fitted as part of your standard lighting circuit, it will resume from its last known state when switched on.

What's the max light output in Lumens

Can more than one light be linked so they can be operated at the same time on the app. Or do you have to set each one individually? I would want 3 or 4 in my bathroom you see.
Yes, they can be linked by adding them to the same group/room.

Can these be used outside on the underside of a porch canopy?
Yes, under canopies, in soffits anywhere outside, and safely too as these rated at IP65 so even water jets won’t cause their premature failure.

Can I use these in a niche right next to shower an just roughly 800mm above bath ?
This fixture is rated at IP65 so is safe in the area described. Just check with you electrician to see if your circuit needs protecting with a RCD device.

Can you link all 6 lights together, and/or have two one colour and the other 4 a different colour and they stay like that on the main switch for the lights
Yes. Install four bulbs, switch on and assign to a group and set the colour you desire. Remove the four original bulbs, then install the two remaining bulbs, assign them to a group, set the colour for the second group. Then put back in the four original bulbs and switch on at the wall. Four lamps one colour and two lamps another all switched on a by a single wall switch. They will stay like like unless you reassign them to another group by hitting the programming buttons on the remote within a few seconds of switching all the bulbs on. Full details are supplied.

With these downlights..if a bulb goes, do you replace the bulb, or do you need to buy the whole unit again? Also - what is the lifespan of these bulbs?
These downlights have a given life of 35,000 hours and an L70b50 figure of 54,000 hours (that means 50% of the lights will still be 70% of their light after 54,000 hours). 35,000 hours equals 20+ years if on for 4 hours per day, 365 days a year. Reducing (dimming) the light extends this further. The chip cannot be replaced. In 20 years this technology is likely to be replaced by something that uses even less energy. Premature failures are covered by the five-year warranty.

What wattage are these. The wattage that they actually use?
Apologies for this glaring omission. These fixtures are 8 watt. That is the maximum draw when displaying white light at full intensity. Wattage used when on colour is less, between 2 & 3 watts, or less if the output is dimmed.

Are they fire rated?
Indeed they are, up to 90 minutes. Fire-rated - 30/60/90min solid timber, 30min web joist and 30min i-joist (staircraft)

How do I get a remote control? bought 2 for the shower, but no remote included.
The light can be operated on/off by a switch or pull cord. Additional functions can be set via a smart phone app including, but not limited to, colours and intensity. There is not a remote control available for these lights other than a smartphone.

I can see you've already said the LED light doesn't generate much heat but just to confirm - is this item suitable for an installation underneath a loft flooring and surrounding by insulation??
Yes, there will be no issue of heat build- up with this lamp when covered by insulation.

When it’s dark are the white lights sufficiently bright for cleaning the bathroom and everyday use ? I like the idea of the coloured lights when having a relaxing bath but just want ordinary light in the day ?
When on white, these are the same as a 50w halogen lamp. This is the standard wattage for downlights. The white will be more than bright enough for your tasks.

Can I get these: 1x blue and 1 x purple. They will be wired into a permanent lighting circuit?
These are colour changing but can be set to a particular colour. Both lamps will need to be on different zones. For instance 1 on zone 1, set to blue, 1 on zone 2, set to purple.

Is it possible to set the lamp so it scrolls through the colour range automatically?
Yes a number of variants are available for auto colour change with the additional ability to change the speed of transitions.

What is the depth of the recess required?
43mm recess depth is required, so if installing in 12.5mm plasterboard you will need a void of 30mm or more.

Does one remote control all the lamps?
Multiple lamps can be controlled at one time using the App

Would I be able to wire these lights into my original lighting circuit , and turn them on using my bathroom light switch ? Will this method turn the lights on or will the remote power on button need pushing first?
They can be wired and controlled (on / off ) by your switch. They would come on on the last setting they were turned off on.

Is it possible that you can create a normal clear colour with these lights, as it is mentioned that you can have any colour spectrum. Or would these lights only create a definite colour spectrum only. It would be nice to have normal when required.
This lamp can create a white light. By using the App you can click white, This would give you a white light, equivalent of a 50w halogen.

Can these be used with a dimmer switch?
This lamp cant be used with a dimmer switch. These can be dimmed using the App.

Are these lights sutable for down lighters on the ceiling above bookshelves?
There is no heat from the LED light source so they would suit your installation.
