IP65 IC Wall or Ceiling Light by Flos - 280mm or 381mm

The IC wall light from Flos explores balance and is part of a range of interesting lighting which takes as their basic form a sphere which is perfectly balanced on the edge of a rod.

This new model takes this classic light into a new era, This option is now IP65 rated meaning it can be installed in exterior locations and in bathrooms.

Whilst designed for installation as a wall light (either up or down-facing) it can also be installed on the ceiling.

The designer, Michael Anastassiades, came across an online video clip of a contact juggler. He was spinning a set of spheres, moving them around on his arms and edge of his fingers. As Michael became mesmerized by the magic of his skill he noticed the spheres suddenly the spheres looked perfectly still - it was his aim to capture that exact moment.  This was his starting point. The initials IC comes from the codes that English police use to define the perceived ethnicity of a person they stop in the street when reporting back to the station. IC1 means white person or Northern European type, IC2 means Mediterranean European/Hispanic, IC3 indicates an African/Afro-Caribbean person, and so on, so this is a playful story to define the different designs.

A slim wall bracket providing diffused light and on the opal glass diffuser seems to balance as if by magic creating an interesting feature Available in two sizes IC1 and IC2 in either chrome, burnished brass, burgundy Red, Stainless steel or black.
