Eyeball Downlight for R50 Reflector Lamp

Following from a previous question - the lights are not immediately above a bath or shower (there is minimal risk of them being splashed) but the vertical distance is only 170cm above the top of the bath - would it be safe to install! Thank you for your advice.
The regulations are quite specific about the height above floor level. So you description of the location does mean your installation is within regulations and safe.

Are these suitable for bathrooms
As long as your positioning in the ceiling is at least 2.3 metres over a shower or bath, then yes.

Hi, I have two old eyeball downlight that I want to replace. The cut-out hole diameter is 110mm, overall diameter 140mm (ish). Do you have anything suitable to fit this size - if not any suggestions of my way forward ? Thanks Steve
We would recommend you use our oversized downlights. Oversized downlights have an oversize bezel (150mm) suitable for easy covering a hole in your ceiling from 70mm up to 140mm in diameter. Product ref 5172 for instance.

Are these fire rated / do they conform with current UK regulations?
These meet all U.K. regs; CE Marked, F Marked etc etc butt they are not fire rated so if you are installing these in a fire compartment you’ll need to use a fire hood. Many electricians choose to use fire-rated downlights everywhere when they are not required.

Can I use the LED r50 bulbs (RAD43119451) with these?
Yes you would be fine to use the LED lamps with this fitting.

Are the bulbs screw in or bayonet cap?
The downlight comes without lamps, and is intended to be used with E14 screw in lamps.

Are these lights suitable for bathrooms?

Can I replace a g10 bulb down lighter with this fitting.
Replacing a GU10 downlight with this is straightforward enough and will give a softer light.
