Satin and opal lamps are being phased out and there are limited stocks in the market. Why? ultimately because they are not as efficient as lamps with clear glass - simply put 10-15% of light does not get out of the lamp envelope.
So if you like the softer light provided by opal lamps you should buy some spares for the years ahead.
These lamps are from Crompton have a 1000 hour lamp life and are internally fused for safety.
