Recessed Kitchen Lighting

Spotlights (otherwise known as down lights) are a classic choice for lighting your kitchen, and for good reason. Downlights ensure that light can be evenly distributed around the room so that your kitchen is brightly lit in its entirety for food preparation and easier cleaning. Having a kitchen well-lit with spotlights also adds a fantastically airy feeling to the room helping the kitchen feel fresh and open. Spotlights truly are the base of modern kitchen lighting, creating ambient light while cleanly inlaid into the ceiling. Whatever the finish of your kitchen, our vast range of downlights are available in all different finishes and colours, from brushed steel to brass.

Recessed Kitchen Lighting - Tips and Advice

Downlights (also known as spotlights) have now become a classic kitchen lighting staple. Many people choose to only use spotlights for their kitchen projects, however we like to think of downlights as the starting block for your kitchen lighting. One of the beauties of spotlights is that due to their being recessed in the ceiling, they leave the space uncluttered meaning that you can still choose to layer on other lighting forms for aesthetic and functional benefits. Say, for example, you have a kitchen island or breakfast bar installed and wish to incorporate a long drop feature light over it. Downlights are the perfect partner for feature lighting in a kitchen as they can brightly and evenly light all areas of the kitchen, while allowing your feature lighting to shine (quite literally!).
