What it is and how it works
Recessed 3-circuit track lighting offers all the flexibility of a surface-mounted system while delivering a clean, built-in appearance. Designed to sit flush within the ceiling, the system requires a 40mm-wide slot. Once installed, the track’s visible width is 58mm, with a slim flange that conceals the cut edge and provides a tidy, professional finish.
Using three live conductors and a shared neutral, the system supports up to three independently controlled lighting circuits on a single length of track. This enables flexible control and precise zoning of light, particularly useful in multi-functional or display-led spaces. Circuit selection is managed at the fitting itself via a small dial.
Usage
Ideal for commercial interiors, galleries, retail environments and high-end residential projects where a clean, uncluttered ceiling is a design priority. The system can accommodate a wide range of fittings, including spotlights, floodlights and pendants, all of which can be repositioned and reassigned to different circuits as needed. By recessing the track into the ceiling, the focus remains on the light output and not the hardware. This is particularly useful in spaces where lighting layouts change frequently, but the architectural finish must remain seamless.
Key Features
The track is held in place using discreet saddle clamps (shown above), allowing for a secure, accurate installation. The same fixed joints used in surface and suspended systems are used here, but with matching cover plates to maintain the streamlined look. Tracks are available in a range of lengths and finishes and can be trimmed to length using a mitre saw. Straight runs, corners and connections are all achievable with compatible accessories. Both spotlights and pendant fittings can be used, with a 5kg pendant adapter available.
This 3-circuit recessed system is a smart solution when flexibility is required, but the ceiling needs to remain quiet and architectural.

Compatibility with Other Fixtures
This recessed 3-circuit track system is based on the EUTRAC profile, widely adopted across the UK and Europe. It is compatible with many professional fittings, including those from Erco, Zumtobel, and other leading brands. The profile matches systems from manufacturers such as Global, Nordic, LTS, Unipro, SLV, Thorn, Ivela, Staff, iGuzzini, Nokia, and Hoffmeister.
Please check the following before specifying fittings:

DALI-compatible fittings often require a dedicated DALI track and are not always suitable for standard 3-circuit systems.

Older fittings (typically pre-1990s) may not align with the modern EUTRAC profile.

Single or two-circuit fittings are not compatible with this 3-circuit track.
