Hallways require a reasonable level of light but would also benefit from lighting with low running costs. Wall lights are a good option and if used correctly can provide interest to otherwise plain walls. Lifts and lobbies definitely require a good level of lighting for safety reasons.
Lighting for corridors and hallways
Many lobbies and hallways are not really rooms more corridors with entry and exit points to another office or room. Often long and narrow, and not fit for many furnishes, these areas need good lighting to emphasise the walls and paintings to invite people to walk along them. Lifts, lobbies and hallways are transient places many without natural daylight and therefore require good lighting. As well as these hallways, there are often staircases and adjacent landings to be considered.
