Lamps (more commonly referred to as bulbs): There are hundreds of different bulb types and Lighting Styles tends to stock the lamps for the products we sell however we often have other commonly used lamps in our stock range too. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions or require advice.
Transformers: Low voltage lamps are not wired directly to the mains. A transformer is used to reduce the current to 12 volts. Transformers are available in a variety of different wattages but Lighting Styles recommends using one transformer per lamp/fitting as this makes replacement of a faulty transformer much easier. New style electronic transformers are far more reliable than their predecessors and many of our transformers carry a 5-year guarantee.
LED Power Supplies: Many LED lights operate on DC (Direct Current) power. Most will not work on transformers for downlights as these provide a low voltage AC (Alternating Current). In addition DC power supplies come in two types; constant voltage and constant current. Each of these requires the wiring to the light fixtures to be configured in a certain way. If you are unsure please contact us and we will be happy to advise you.
Bathroom Mirror Demister Pads: Installing a mirror demister pad will stop your bathroom mirror from fogging up after a hot shower or bath. See the demister pad category listing for further information.
Bathroom Dimmer Pull Cords: A pull switch for the bathroom which enables you to dim the lighting as you require - high for dark mornings when you require good illumination and dimmed for bathtime soaks when you want to soften the mood.
