Surface Mounted Downlights
Many architects and interior designers find surface mounted spot bars and recessed downlights either too fussy or too difficult to install when there is no ceiling void. These surface mounted lights which are just as the name states mounted onto the ceiling are key for a clean look but still provide directional light if adjustable.
This range of surface mounted spot lights give the effect of downlights with a modern feel. Easy to install as there is no cutting or measuring of the ceiling, and they still provide a great light either downward or directional. Ideal for many living spaces adding a contemporary with necessary illumination, something different to the standard recessed downlight.
How many do I need?
There is not absolute set rule to how many you should install however it is nice to get a good spread of light without shadows or worse too few and poor illumination. So we would suggest spacing these surface mounted lights evenly across a room for a balanced look. We would suggest dividing your ceiling height by two to give you the space required between each light. So, for example, if your ceiling height is 8 foot then position your lights 4 feet apart.
