To choose the correct ceiling light for your chosen room we recommend you first decide whether you require a flush ceiling light or if the ceiling height can accommodate a drop fitting ceiling light. Remember also the height of the people using the room can affect what fitting you choose!

You may also want to consider the style of your room – is it contemporary or traditional? Are you happy to choose a more contemporary fitting if your room is traditional? There are no true design rules regarding lighting styles – you may well wish to mix and match a look to suit your personal taste and desires.

Next, consider the finish – brass, satin nickel, chrome, glass, crystal, flock… The list is long but remember to consider your switch plates and door handles if you want a “uniformed” look.

Finally, decide if the ceiling fitting is going to be your only source of light (Lighting Styles would recommend using a selection of lighting, e.g. task, ambient, mood) in which case you will need to think about the wattage.

CEILING LIGHTING

Picking lighting for your ceiling can be a bit of a challenge or easy as abc, depending on your understanding of what is required for your space and, to a certain extent, what type of ceiling lighting is available. In this section we have broken the choice into around sixteen categories. Some of these categories are split again to make the selection easier.

The typical choice of ceiling lighting is broken into these categories

Chandeliers. We offer glass chandeliers, crystal chandeliers, metal chandeliers, chandeliers with cloth shades, chandeliers with glass shades, ornate chandeliers and wrought iron chandeliers.

Pendants. We can provide metal light pendants, glass shade pendants, globe pendants and ball pendants, drum pendant shades in fabric, drum pendants shades in glass, rise and fall pendants and glass pendants with multiples lamps.

Hanging lights. While chandeliers and pendants hang from a ceiling we have another category called suspended ceiling lights.
In this category we place modern hanging lights, themed lighting, long drop lights used in high ceilinged rooms and stairwells and suspended bar lights where a number of lights hang from a single suspended bar.
