Luxury Magnetic Track - 48 volt small, discreet and very stylish

Our Minimalist 48V magnetic track is available in three options (sizes) either Maxi, Mini or Midi. The profiles offer you an innovative and flexible lighting solution that extends beyond traditional fixtures:

Magnetic Flexibility: One standout feature of our track lighting system is the magnetic lights themselves. These fixtures can be effortlessly moved and adjusted by end-users, allowing you to tailor the lighting to your specific needs without the hassle of calling in an electrician. This magnetic versatility puts you in control of your lighting design.

Ceiling-to-Wall Flow: Unlike conventional lighting systems, our 48V magnetic track profile allows you to seamlessly flow lighting across ceilings and down walls. Create captivating and dynamic lighting arrangements that transcend the limitations of traditional fixed lighting.

Versatile Fixtures: Choose from a wide range of lighting fixtures, including spotlights, pendants, and linear LED lights, to customize your track lighting system. Mix and match these fixtures to achieve your desired lighting ambience. Just remember to ensure that the total load does not exceed the capacity of your 48V DC power supply for optimal performance.

Clean Installation: To achieve a sleek and unobtrusive appearance, our snap-in covers can be easily cut to length and installed between lights and connectors. This "closes" the profile and ensures a clean and polished look for your ceiling-to-wall lighting setup.

Our Minimalist 48V magnetic track profile and the ability to customise your lighting effortlessly have practical benefits for both residential and commercial lighting projects, but it can get tricky so, we do recommend that you seek our assistance with larger and more complex projects.

What is magnetic lighting track, and how does it work?

What is magnetic lighting track, and how does it work?

Many are curious about the basic concept, technology behind magnetic tracks, and how they differ from traditional lighting systems.

  • Magnetic Attachment: Light fixtures designed for this system have magnets that allow them to snap onto the track securely. This feature makes it simple to add, remove, or reposition lights as needed, catering to changing lighting requirements or design preferences. There is no adapter, circuit selection dial, or locking levers. The track is pushing in place and works.

  • Electrical Connection: The tracks are low voltage and typically use a 48 volt driver to provide DC current to the track. When light fixtures are attached to the track, they make an electrical connection through the magnets, powering the lights. This eliminates the need for individual wiring for each light fixture, streamlining the installation process.

  • Flexibility and Customisation: The design of magnetic lighting tracks allows for a high degree of flexibility. Tracks can be cut to length and combined in various configurations to fit different spaces. Light fixtures come in diverse styles, from spotlights to pendant lights, offering numerous lighting possibilities from a single installation.

  • Ease of Installation: Magnetic track lighting systems are relatively easy to install, often requiring just the mounting of the track to the ceiling or wall and connection to a power source. Observations on polarity are no longer a consideration with a single corner replacing four differently wired corners that might be required on a mains track.

  • Aesthetic Appeal: With its minimalist and sleek design, magnetic track lighting blends seamlessly into modern interiors. The tracks are discreet, and the ability to move lights along the track without visible wiring contributes to a clean and uncluttered look.

All these LED tracks are 48 volt and use Magnetic Light fixtures

All joints are mechanical only so a dedicated electrical patch lead is required to take the power to the next piece of track in an installation. The maximum length from a single power supply is 10 metres.

This 48v track can use integrated power supplies (in the track) or remote power supplies (typically hidden in ceiling void). When designing your 48V magnetic track system, consider the power supply options.

The track system (which is available as Maxi, Mini and Midi and three profile sizes) can be installed in one of three ways:

Surface mounted
For surface installation on walls or ceilings, the profile is fixed with screws through the rear of the track. Again Physical joints are offered for straight connections, corners, and a transition piece that allows the track to run from ceiling to wall. All require an electrical connection. The profile is 40mm wide and 75mm deep.

Suspended
The surface mounted profile can be suspended on braided steel suspensions. The suspensions are 3 metres long and feature a clutch mechanism that makes installation easier. Again Physical joints are offered for straight connections, corners, and a transition piece that allows the track to run from ceiling to wall. All require an electrical connection. The profile options are Maxi 40mm wide and 75mm deep, Mini 27mm wide and 30mm deep, Midi 27mm wide x 55mm deep.

Recessed
Cut a slot (as dictated by the dimensions of the track you choose), fold back the clips on the rear of the track, and insert the profile into the void. The sprung clips hold the rear of the plasterboard and a 50mm wide flange covers the cut edge. The profile is 75mm deep so ensure you have sufficient void to accommodate this. Physical joints are offered for straight connections, corners, and a transition piece that allows the track to run from ceiling to wall. All require an electrical connection.

Dimming
If you do not have DALI network-controlled lighting system in your space all lights on this system function as simply ON or OFF. the light fixtures are not dimmable on any traditional type of rotary dimmer. For those who have, or plan to use DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) equipment we have several fixtures that can offer dimming capabilities.

If you require guidance on DALI compatible lights please contact us for more information on addressable and dimmable lights - we are more than happy to advise.
