Existing fitting in hole 85mm, will this work?
This fitting requires a cut out diameter of 70mm, and so is too small for your hole. I would suggest referring to our oversized downlights for something that will fit.

Can these be mounted in a vertical wall?
Well yes they can but you have to consider heat and glare. Perhaps it would wise to use a LED lamp?

What accessories are required to connect 5 of these together?
These are mains fixtures so all that is required to install five downlights is some cable or flex.

Would this type of light need to be recessed into the ceiling? Would it be suitable for use in a shower cubicle .
Yes this is a ceiling recessed fixture - you will need to cut a hole in your ceiling and have a void behind. This fixture has a high protection against water under pressure (IP65) so can be used in the shower.
