Contemporary and Traditional Barn Wall Lights - Typically Enclosed Light Fixtures on Tubular Brackets
Of course, many fans of these barn-style wall lights do not own barns, or cabins, and are not located near the sea, where they are used to evoke a seaside or nautical theme. That said they are very popular in country cottages and contemporary homes alike.
Most of the designs we offer here use a tubular arm to support the lamp, often enclosed in glass and occasionally topped with a hat-style reflector to direct light out and down and to add an additional styling. The tubular bracket can be a simple 90° bend directing the light down, or a shallower angle to direct the light out away from the wall on which they are mounted. More elaborate designs are often called swan-neck brackets as they follow the longer curved design of the elegant bird.
Some of these designs incorporate sensors that switch the light automatically when movement is detected by the PIR sensor.
What lamp (bulb) you choose to use is IP to you, but often clear lamps with LED filaments inside look best, how bright the light is depends on the wattage of the lamp you choose. We do tend to suggest lower-wattage lamps to reduce glare from fixtures where the lamp is visible.
