Shaving mirrors with lights not only look great but provide the necessary illumination to the face when applying cosmetics or shaving. To give a magnified view the mirrored glass needs to be concave. We are asked to provide shaving mirrors with flat glass but this not possible.

For shaving and close up work a mirror with 3x magnification works well. This shaving mirror is on a single arm which hinges at the wall and behind the mirror. It will fold back against the wall either to the left or right of the wall fixing. The mirror glass (and lamp housing behind), tilts up and down. It may also be fixed in position by tightening a thumbscrew. We offer several styles, two lamp types and offer a tougher unit suitable for use in hotels bathrooms.

Notes on the choice of lamps: This version uses a GX53 energy saving lamp which have built in electronic flicker free control gear (you can select your choice of lamp below) The GX53 energy saving lamps keep running costs down and avoid scalding when left on for extended periods.

This shaving mirror has an IP rating of 44 and may be used in zones 2 and 3 in your bathroom.

If it doesn't have a switch how do you turn it on?
This fitting needs to be hard wired into your mains supply and will therefore be operated from your main switch. So when you turn on your main light source the mirror will turn on as well.

Where is the switch located if it doesn't have a pull cord?
This is an unswitched shaving mirror for use with a GX53 energy saving lamp and needs to be hard wired into your mains.

What should be the standard height from the floor for fixing the double folded reversible shaving mirror in the bathroom?
That should be decided by the individuals who will use the mirror! Remember the mirror face tilts up and down to suit the height of the user. We`d suggest a minimum of 1400mm and maximum of 1600mm above F.F.L. so 1500 seems a good average.

Does this item tilt up and down in the same way the MIK0338 item does?
Yes there is a knuckle joint on the rear of the mirror allowing adjustment, this can be locked in place if needed.
