Italian lighting manufacturer and designer, Karman, are a talented collective of designers with an avant-garde approach to branding. Quality serves as the foundation for a stable of designers who love to experiment with materials as diverse as ceramics and wire to concrete and fabric. This floor lamp is one such item which shows their talent and diversity. It is not a simple design nor is it budget but it makes up for this in its quality and excitement.
 
We all need light but lighting can also be fun, it should never be dull. This floor light is minimal, dynamic and, of course, fun. A slim 1850mm glass tube with a black base, trailing flex and, if you wish to create more fun and what some might consider irrelevance, add a wood pecker? Or a tubular netting?
 
The structure is frosted white glass and matt black aluminium with a 60 watt LED strip providing 8000 lumens, available in 2700K or 3000K colour temperatures.
 
Floor base measures 260mm in diameter and the tube measures 28mm.

The wood pecker is made to fit and manufactured in frosted white wood with spring, the mesh/netting is black plastic mesh.

Wood pecker measures 200mm high and 160mm wide including the ring and spring.

About the designer... Art director and creative for Karman, Matteo Ugolini, slips away from ordinary design and along with Karman creates products in a unique and distinctive way. He has no muse among masters of the past: he just designs what he truly likes. His aim is to excite and create emotion, his roots are hold to the remembering of the past and nature that is deeply connected to.
