I wanted to put these lights in my bathroom cabinet, and wondered how long they stay on for? Do they stay switched on until the door is closed?
These have a Built-in IR sensor, the light will come on once the drawer is opened and switch off as soon as the drawer is closed.

Does this light have to be fitted at the time of cupboard/drawer construction or can it be fitted later?
No these can be installed into existing furniture. Removing the drawers may help though!

Would this also work for lighting a cupboard?
Yes, but must be mounted on the non hinged side of the cupboard (same side as handle) the door,when closed pushes in a switch, which turns off the light.
