Guns Bedside Table Light by Philippe Starck for Flos

Modern art or a symbolic gesture? Whichever way you look at it, Philippe Starck has built a range of strong, controversial yet bizarrely functional symbols that form the Gun table and floor lights. This Guns Bedside light is the smallest in the range of three and therefore more affordable, however the larger options are visually very striking.

The body on this bedside lamp is die cast aluminium with an 18K gold plated finish with a black shade. The base is emblazoned with the words “happiness is a hot gun”.  The shade is a matt plasticized diffuser with a silk screen and gold printing inside with the subtle S+arck signature cross decoration.

Most importantly Flos will donate 20% of the gross sales from the Guns Collection to the Freres des Hommes Europe Association, an organization that works for the growth of local communities and their social structure in underdeveloped countries of the world.

However you consider them, the Guns lights are iconic, stylish and utterly unique.

The shade measures 236mm in diameter and is 188mm high. The overall height of the lamp is 426mm and the base diameter is 160mm. The cord length is 1.5m long and has a dimmer switch integrated on the flex.

Designed for an E27 base mains lamps up to 75 watts.
