Hello. I'm interested in buying two of these but would like to know if the minimum drop can be reduced. the info says the minimum drop is 69cm - which is too low for what I need. I'd like it to be able to sit a lot higher - 45/50cm from ceiling with a maximum drop of maybe 80cm.
I'm afraid the minimum drop is 69cm, it can't be altered.

does the lamp work without a dimmable light bulb? We only have a normal light switch, not a dimmable one.
Yes, a normal non dimmable with function perfectly

My light won't stay up, is there an easy fix for this?
Yes there is, ease the plastic ceiling rose down from the ceiling. Inside the cover you will find a tensioning nut that will require a couple of turns to tension the wire and hey presto!

Hi, can you tell me the diameter or circumference of the ceiling rose please. Concerned our existing fitting has made too big a hole and yours won’t cover properly. Thanks
The ceiling rose has a diameter of 93mm

Other than the curly lead and string, are all components made of metal particularly the cups at the top and bottom of the curly lead? If not, what material are they made of? Many thanks.
This product is mainly steel and aluminium apart from the ceiling rose which is plastic.

Can you provide fixing instructions for the scandinavian rise and fall fitting? I want to make sure it is possible to install without major disruption to the ceiling.
Like many light fixtures from Scandinavia the weight of this fixture is designed to hang from a single hook, this can be a spring toggle for use in plasterboard or a simple cup hook screwed in a ceiling joist. Electrical connection is made at this point and the plastic ceiling cup slides up to cover the wiring and hook. If the tension needs to be adjusted at any point this is through an adjusting screw that is also in the ceiling cup.

Can this fitting be used in a porch?
This fitting can be used in an enclosed porch, however as this is an indoor fitting it would not be suitable for a porch that is exposed to the outside elements.

Can the minimum drop from the ceiling be reduced from the 690mm standard?
Not really. You could look at the version on a standard flex.

Does this come in a bushed aluminium finish like the Scandinavian design light pendant does?
This product is only available in the colours listed.

I really like the shade but I don't need the rise and fall. Can this shade be attached to a regular UK pendant fitting i.e. can the rise and fall be detached from the shade?
You can remove the rise and fall mechanism if desired and use a larger E27 European style lamp holdwer but we do offer this design... Scandinavian design light pendant without the rise and fall mechanism and the handle.

The flex of the light has a clamp mechanism which acts as a push/pull feature ensuring it does not drop down and keeps in place.

Yes - this is to reflect the light fully.

Does this work or can be converted to Australian 240 volt?
No conversion is required this product is 220-240v

I am interested in purchasing one of these. I think this is a copy of a Louis Poulsen design by the great Poul Henningsen. I have bought another similar but cheaper version, notably one called Brenda which failed twice because the rise/fall cord was weak and it wore badly. What is the spec for the cord in your pendant which looks much better made
Thank you for your question. The Swedish designers of this pendant may be upset to think that anyone believes them to be directly copying Louis Poulsen as they’ve been producing in a Scandinavian style since 1969. Suspect you’re old light might be made in a China as we’ve never had any reports if failures from our customers.

Can you use this above an induction hob on the island?
Induction hobs heat items with a ferrous content only when in close proximity. So you can safely wear a wristwatch when cooking without burning your wrist. It is therefore safe to have a pendant over an induction hob, especially when the pendant is made mostly from aluminium.

Please can you let me know if the "sand" shade is white or "sand" on the underside?
The underside is white.

Can a Philip hue bulb be fitted or used in this lamp?
There should be plenty of room for the phillips Hue lamp in this fitting.

What is the the underside colour (inside) of the red shade ?

Our ceiling is quite high (just over 3 metres). Would we be able to see the naked bulb even when the lamp is fully extended?
When fully extended the total drop from the ceiling is 1590mm. Depending on the height of the table, when fully extended we don't think you will see the lamp.

Unfortunately, we do not have a wall light that matches this pendant.

I see the highest position is 690mm from the ceiling to the bottom of the shade. Can the flex be shortened (so that the bottom of the shade is closer to the ceiling)? If so, is there a maximum amount it can be shortened by?..
This rise and fall is adjustable when installed. This cannot be shortened at time of installation...

How do I mount the ceiling rose to the ceiling rose?
By using the ceiling bracket and hook provided. This should be in your packaging as standard in a clear plastic bag.

I cannot work out how to change my existing UK light fitting to this one, can you help me?
The Primus comes with a European plug in the ceiling rose. If you cut the plug off you can wire the fitting in as you would a standard fitting with a trailing lead removed.

Yes, this should work absolutely fine.

These come as standard with a maximum drop of 1590mm, unfortunately this can not be extended.

Will E26 bulbs fit in the E27 socket? I live in Canada.
E26 110v lamps can be used in an E27 230v socket. E26 lamps are 26mm in diameter while E27 lamps are 27mm in diameter. You can`t do it the other way around i.e. put E27 lamps in an E26 fixture - they`re too big.

I can confirm the height is 295mm.

Can this light be fitted with a dimmer switch?
Yes it will work on any dimmer.
