Exploring Interior Design with Pops of Colour
Pops of colour interior design is not all about colour - far from it. It's the pop here and there of a bold colour to make a room stand out, so use soft furnishings such as cushions and throws if you don't feel happy going all out colourful. A bright table lamp in a zingy colour with a jazzy patterned blanket casually thrown over a neutral sofa will change the look instantly without spending a fortune on wallpaper or repainting. Then if you're having a dull day (or a migraine!) you can swap things around and go back to neutral.
If you're old school and like books, you could use these as a decorative element to a room, showcasing the spines or the books in an eclectic style on a book case - all the various colours will add pop. Alternatively posters in cheap frames which you can switch around as your mood takes you - add wallpaper to a frame for a quick and cheap pop of colour design statement.
Maybe you may still be struggling with the idea of a bright living space so try pastel colours first and ease your way in gently.
So, if you're a 'more is more' type of interior stylist or a pastel purist this lighting section will be a great way of changing the look of your space quickly and easily.
