I would like to link 6 of these lights along a single cable to an internal power source, is this possible?
Yes, that would work. Just give some consideration of the additional components is required. A simple way is to run the cable from the switch to the first location at which the feed goes into a 3-way (waterproof) junction box. The mains feed then carries onto the next location and another junction box is used and continues on. Each spike then has it's own junction box and can be moved around as the long flex allows. Some would use waterproof plugs sockets but each solution has its own merit.
