This listing is for a fixed pendant in two sizes and three suspension styles that complements our range of exquisite French hand-thrown, made-to order ceramic lighting. All metalwork is unlacquered brass and will oxidise to a natural patina - unless you break out the Brasso! The solid rod suspension has a knuckle joint at the bottom that allows you to tilt the shade to a jaunty angle to wash a wall with light if desired. The braided flex is twisted silk in a bronze hue to complement the metalwork. To order pick the suspension type (solid rod, chain or silk braided flex) and the diameter of the ceramic shade from the listings below.
The shades are available in two sizes: Small shades diameter 260mmLarge shades diameter 330mm For rooms with lower ceilings the cord and chain version can be reduced in length from the standard 1000mm. The rod measures 480 mm in length. Reducing the length of the solid rod suspension is not possible at home unless you have a well equipped workshop. These stunning lights comes in a wealth of hand-fired colour glazes, click here to see the exciting range of 29 colours for 2013. Please specify the colour required in the comments box when placing your order. Authentique et actual as the French would say. Our French pottery is hand-made and hand-glazed with two firings at 1030°C and 960°C for resistance and quality. Uneven shades in colour and spider vein cracks in the glazing are the proof of the hand glazing process and part of the patina of the finished product. Crazing occurs after the final firing of a piece and will differ in pieces according to size, position in the kiln and ambient temperature. These should not be regarded as faults in the product. If perfection is what you are after then look at machine manufactured pottery.
If you would like to view a sample or a selection of colours in your own home please contact the sales team. A small deposit of £15 required for up to 3 x sample tiles which is fully refundable upon return of the samples.
Note: Restrictions on the design of lamps means that many incandescent lamps are being discontinued. So that you get diffused soft light, this fixture is supplied with a two piece halogen lamp enclosure. This means you can use energy saving G9 halogen lamps but get the light associated with old style frosted lamps. The lamp supplied with the fixture is 42w giving as much light as a 60w incandescent lamp. These are dimmable on any type of dimmer unit.

Is it possible to order extra length flex/chain/braid. We want to use these lights in our barn and suspend from a beam 3 metres above the proposed site. Is this possible please? |
can i use the energy saver bulbs with this fitting |
Do you ship to the US? We live in Boston, Mass. |
We are looking at this pendant light for our kitchen, specifically over our dining table. What is the maximum watt energy efficient light bulb this will take? 60 watts seems very dim we want to make sure it is bright enough over our table (We currently have a modern light fixture attached to the ceiling which uses three 50 watt bulbs. Although it is ugly, it is nice and bright.). P.S. I like the palindrome question. |
Is it possible to order a shade only without suspension as I have low ceilings |
