The right bathroom lighting can switch an image in the mirror from beast to beauty, but is often overlooked in the rush to install new showers, modern fixtures and stylish tiles. So if your are refurbishing your bathroom take a few moments to read our guide below.
Our range of bathroom mirror lights can give you the required even illumination needed to remove or reduce shadows from overhead lights so you can look your best first thing in the morning!
If you want better lighting in your bathroom or if you just want to be able to see yourself clearly and without shadows in the mirror you'll need to be strong in your demands. If you've no power above or to the sides of your bathroom mirror you'll find and hear so many reasons why it's not possible...
"There's no time" often means your electrician can't be bothered so make them aware it is something you want and therefore is something you are going to have. Remodeling a bathroom is a juggling act between several trades (plumbers, electricians tilers etc) there's always something that can shift a day or two.
"It would make too much mess to channel out the wall for the cable" see above but you have to break a few eggs to make an omelette. Think of the years of misery because you can't see yourself well enough to put on your make-up or miss shaving those awkward hairs under your nose in your newly refurbished bathroom.
"you won't need them with these spotlights and downlights" believe us when we say if your previous bathroom lighting was a single pendant in the middle of the ceiling changing to recessed downlights or spotlights will only make the situation worse.
"the tiles are already up" easy take them down. Tile adhesive stays soft for a several days. Pop off the tiles, channel out the walls for the cables (or simply drop the supply down in plasterboard walls) drill the tile for the cable outlet and put the tiles back in place.
In short unless your home does not have an electrical supply you can improve an existing bathroom to provide light for shaving, putting in contact lenses, applying make-up etc.
For clarity we have created an additional category for over mirror lights with built in shaver sockets.
If you like the idea of an illuminated mirror but would prefer sleek uncluttered lines use one of our back-lit bathroom mirrors - these have the lamps and control gear built it. Hang them on the wall connect up the supply and you'll see your own beauty in the mirror! |
