90 Min IP65 Fire Rated Downlight

A fire rated downlight comprising of a steel body with die cast aluminium head fully tested for 90 minute fire rated surfaces, and integrated intumescent material which seals the downlight and cut-out in the event of a fire.

The fitting has an IP rating of 65 from below the ceiling making it suitable for zones 1, 2 & 3 in bathrooms and wet rooms.

In compliance with the Building Regulations Approved Document B with regards to Fire Safety and Document E with regards to Resistance to the Passage of Sound.

Installed as easily as a standard non fire rated downlight in ceiling materials up to 35mm thick.

This fitting is offered in 12v (MR16) and mains (GU10) versions - all are supplied with Osram lamps.

The 12v version is Class 3 and requires a transformer.

The mains version is Class 2 (double insulated)

Is this product suitable for use in a recessed shelf (in a false wall) in a shower area? If based on the IP rating the fitting is suitable for the suggest application, however this is not designed to be submerged and/or exposed to the continuous flow of water. Also note the product dimensions (found in the specification) allow sufficient void space to accommodate the down light housing.

Does this product require a transformer? On this listing are 12v and mains versions. The 12v fixture requires a transformer.
