Can low energy ES lamps be put into the HRD7230-750 without damaging the PIR sensor. We have a customer who may think the low energy lamp has damaged the PIR sensor. Standard incandescent lamps are a resistive load. CFL lamps are a inductive load. The electrical contacts on the relay can be damaged by use with a high inductive load. That said a single CFL lamp (unless it is a high wattage) should not cause too many problems. Domestic PIR's, especially those built into a luminaire may fare better with only resistive loads. That said unless the manufacturer states that only incandescent lamps may be used you would be perfectly entitled to repair or replacement under warranty.

Does this have a daylight inhibitor? something which ensures the PIR does not switch the light on during daylight hours This fitting will only operate when the ambient light level is less than 100 lux i.e. dusk. There is no adjustment for the light level at which the unit operates. The sensitivity of the PIR can be adjusted (to avoid nuisance triggering. The length of time the lamp is on can be adjusted from a few seconds to 5 minutes.

Does this light fitting have an auxiliary connection ie 2 live an earth and a neutral? I want the light to trigger another light when activated. This fitting is not prewired to switch auxiliary lighting. That said any electrician should know how to take a feed from the internal PIR switched circuit and loop out the neutral and earth.

Can you let me know if the PIR sensor is adjustable. Does it have a pan or tilt capability? The PIR is fixed, but you can adjust the time and it does have a range of 8.0 metres over 180 degrees.
