I want to install the light minibox in a suspended 2'x2'acoustical ceiling. Can they be hung entirely on the ceiling grid ? (due to to much ductwork above clg.) If so do you have any installation drawings
that show the attachments.
It's unlikey that the weight of this fitting will cause any sagging even after a number of years. You could beef up softer tiles will 6mm of ply just to be sure.

I have a several questions:
1) I'm a bit unsure about this transformer business - I want to use these in a kitchen but am a bit confused by the mains vs transformer, what is the difference?
2) Would I need a transformer per light? I want 2 twins for one part of the room and 3 singles for another.
3) Can the singles be mounted in a wall rather than the ceiling?
4) What the max these and the singles will adjust to?
In a nutshell 12v lamps last longer, give better light and are more efficient.
Often it is easier and more cost effective to use one transformer per lamp.
These can be used in a wall if there is sufficient void behind the fitting. Lack of ventilation willl cause overheating. This should not be used in solid Walls.
With the double gimble these lights have a high degree of adjustment - however after tilting beyond 35 degrees the lamp will shine inside the frame and look unslightly.

Are these lights fire rated?
These fittings are not fire rated, but you could use one of these firehoods you would need the "UFH200" 200 X 200 X 150mm.
