I am considering using these lights in a shop fit. The space is 21ft X 12'6" How many do you think I would need, and how far from the side shelving should they be mounted. Do they generate much heat? We've assumed that you're looking at lights along the longer walls. If so they should be positioned at least a metre from the wall or the front of a full height shelf. Spacing should be around 1.6 metre centers. 70w fitting generate 70w of heat (near enough) but a gives as much light as 3-400w of halogen lights.
