Two piece recessed IP65 low voltage downlight for use with a MR16 lamp.

Ceiling trim body made in die cast aluminium with silicone weather seal and toughened cover clear glass and with independent housing made of stainless steel with black powder coated paint.

Sprung steel fixing fold back against the body making installation easy in ceilings of any thickness including double skinned plasterboard and metal ceiling tiles.

Removable two-part housing allow easy maintenance and lamp replacement. SELV (Safety Extra Low Voltage) Designed and manufactured to comply with European standard EN 60598.

This fully enclosed wet location downlight is excellent choice for lighting food service areas and where the fitting could be exposed to condensation and splashes of water.

Gosh these are cheap. What's the catch? Haha, I like that spam-buster. The original design was by illuma lighting and called Proseal and sells for around £35.00. This initial design was worked on and improved. With low R&D costs and 1000's sold each year we keep costs down. Oddly enough illuma recently went into administration - odd world isn't it!

Could you tell me, does this come supplied with a transformer and lamp, or is it just what you see in the illustration? This light is sold independently, or with transformer and lamp. Scroll down the page for full details.

Got recessed lighting in bathroom but one bulb has gone - on investigation the transformer is only meant to have 4 connections - there are 5 currently. So I need to replace transformer and bulbs I am guessing - any suggestions? It looks like you have found the right place, this is our standard IP rated recessed downlight and so tends to be the one we specify. Do you currently have all lights wired to one transformer? We always suggest individual transformers as this means that if a transformer fails at least it is only the one lamp that goes out. The kits listed below all come with the fitting, lamp and a 60va auto-resetting transformer and so should be perfect for your needs.

What temperature does the outside casing reach in operation? I wish to install these lights into PVC clad ceiling panels which are rated at 60 deg max. You should also consider UV light as an issue too as this causes some uPVC product to become yellow and become brittle. While these luminaires are F marked (being suitable for fixing in flammable material) we would suggest that you use this fitting with an energy saving CFL lamp with a GU10 base or a LED lamp. This will ensure there is no degradation in your uPVC panels through heat or UV light.

Not quite clear from pic how the black part of the housing with 'wings' stays put in the ceiling when you pull the other part out to change a bulb. How do you do it without pulling the black part out too? I'm looking for IP65 12v spots that have to go through two thicknesses of ceiling plasterboard. Pull on the bezel and the housing may come out partially from the ceiling which to be honest is not the end of the world and makes it easier to get a grip. Pull and twist slightly and the "wings" dig in and keeps the housing in the ceiling. This can be used in double skin plasterboard ceilings without issue.

Hello, what width accross is the black housing? The diameter of the housing is 85mm

I'm looking to replace 2 downlighters in the bathroom. The existing hole cutouts are 95m - have you any suggestions. Thx If you search "Hydro 12v Showerproof Downlight" in our search box these fitings would be prefect.

Are these lights suitable for fixing in zone 2 in my bathroom? I'm having a fitted cabinet above the sink and would like to install them in the bottom? Yes these are suitable for zone 2 (and zone 1 & 3 too). They're also F marked making them suitable for use in furniture and other normally flammable surfaces.

Can I use these housings with some mains voltage GU10 lamp holders which I already have? Yes you can! We're all up for using existing kit where possible.

I have a bathroom which is 1.8m by 2.6m with an airing cupboard which is 900mm square in 1 corner. It is currently lit by 3 60w R80 spots in the lowered ceiling. I want to redo the ceiling with new plasterboard and fit these spots - how many 50W fittings would you suggest to get the same light output as we currently have.
