When recessed ground lights are used in a commercial setting due consideration must be given to two aspects: will they be subjected to any vehicular loads and will the glass temperature be appropriate for the location. Here we offer a range of buried exterior uplights with load capacities of 2 tonne or greater suitable for use as drive over lighting in drives and paths in commercial applications.
Drive over lighting is categorised by the weight and speed of vehicle likely to drive over the fitting. Designs are either buried and flush or slightly proud of the surface with a casing enclosed in concrete. Load designs start at 500 Kg and go up to 5 tonnes with vehicle speeds of up to 30 mph.
Glass temperature has been a cause of concern in recent years and many new designs keep the glass temperature to 60 or 70 degrees centigrade or lower in areas where the public could touch the glass.
