I would like to get a good lighting on top of the table for reading (700 - 1000 lux). Indirect lighting is good, but will there enough light downwards (suspended 1000 mm from the table surface)? Or would it be better to choose another lighting type like your "SAM1612T35W Suspended Direct Fluorescent"? The direct fluorescent fixtures mentioned would give the light levels required in isolation i.e. one fixture and one desk. Achieving this is a large space i.e. an office, would require a lighting calculation. The indirect fixture may not achieve the light direct light levels required and many variables are involved in the calculation including height of suspension, colour of wall and ceiling finishes and size of room. That said it would give an even level of light and a more diffused light effect. Call our technical desk if you have a more specific requirement.
