Tension Wire Adjustable Lampholder (Pack 2)

This is about as minimalist as you can get. Basically it is just a lampholder affixed to a metal rod which spans your two tension wires.

Offers 90 degrees rotation both horizontally and vertically.

Requires 35W maximum MR16 lamps which are not included.

The cables under tension should be at 115mm centres for this fitting.

What would be the ideal transformer to use with the strosmr16 tension wire system, with up to 5x 50w lamps in the system? To supply 5 lamps at 50W each you are going to require a transformer rated at at least 250va. Electronic transformers do not work very well with tension wire systems due to harmonic issues so you need to use a wire wound transformer instead. The typical transformer for your purpose would be have a 300w capacity. If you are planning on remotely locating your transformer, in the loft for example, then look at our our waterproof 300w 12v garden transformer, which whilst not as 'pretty', is much cheaper and still perfectly suited to this application.

I have exisitng, installed tension wire lighting but would like to replace the lights with WIM181080. Could you advise if all these systems are the same width in terms of the distance between each of the wires? Systems may vary in width. This fitting is made for systems with wires spaced by 115mm.

Would these fittings take LED lamps? Yes the 12v Philips perfect fit lamp will work on this system. But be sure to match the load to the minimum load of the transformer - call us if unsure.
