90 Min Tilt Fire Rated Downlight - White

A fire rated downlight comprising of a steel body with die cast aluminium head fully tested for 90 minute fire rated surfaces, and integrated intumescent material which seals the downlight and cut-out in the event of a fire.

In compliance with the Building Regulations Approved Document B with regards to Fire Safety and Document E with regards to Resistance to the Passage of Sound.

Installed as easily as a standard non fire rated downlight in ceiling materials up to 35mm thick.

This is an adjustable or 'tilt' downlight giving 15º ± pitch. Further adjustment is not available because the lamp would hit the inside of the steel fire housing.

This fitting is offered in 12v (MR16) and mains (GU10) versions - all are supplied with Osram lamps.

The 12v version is Class 3 and requires a transformer.

The mains version is Class 2 (double insulated)

I would like to fit 3 of these lamps do I need a transformer for each lamp? I plan to fit them in my bathroom ceiling but not in the shower area. Are they suitable for this location? We do suggest using a transformer for each fitting. It makes replacement so much easier if one unit fails in the future. Our SAMET60 transformer is under a fiver and has a five year guarantee. On the second point you can safely use these fixtures outside of zones 1 & 2.

Are lower wattage lamps available for the 12v version of this light? Absolutely the 12 lamps are available in 20 watts and 35 watts and can be found in different beam angles too.

Can you tell me will this be a safe and suitable product to install as reading light 2 ft above bunk bed bed in original ceiling 1930s house and what other equipment needed for install i.e. transformer? Can also I use a dimmer switch with this item? In a 1930's house he ceiling is likely to lathe and plaster so the deeper springs will accommodate the thickness of the ceiling structure. Our obvious concern would be the heat of the lamp (and housing) when only two feet above bedding or the occupant. If there's a child in the top bunk you should look at using a lamp that generates less heat i.e. LED rather than a haolgen lamp. Call us if you would like more advice.
